New ADT+ app creates seamless user experience

With the ADT+ app, ADT customers for the first time will be able to access and control all of their ADT and Google devices in one place

At ADT, we believe that everyone deserves to feel safe. So we empower people to connect and protect what matters most. Our new integrated product platform — the ADT+ app — provides customers with a more advanced and seamless experience across security, life safety, home automation and analytics through a common application.

Device integration

With ADT+, customers for the first time will be able to access and control all of their ADT devices, including a base, keypad, motion sensors, door and window sensors, smart bulbs, smart locks and smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, as well as compatible Google Nest Cams, Doorbell and Thermostats, in one place. Later in 2023, when we integrate Matter into our customer experience, customers will also be able to integrate their ADT+ smart security system with other popular smart home products for simple, secure and reliable interoperability. We’re proud to offer this unified experience as the next major step in our partnership with Google and integrate Google Nest offerings more deeply into the ADT user experience.

The ADT+ app delivers on ADT’s commitment to a product ecosystem that helps connect and protect consumers inside and outside the home. It will first launch for new self-setup customers in February, and expand to current customers and new professionally installed customers later in 2023. There will also be a new line of ADT home security products released later this year that will integrate with the app.

Integrating SMART Monitoring

Customers will have greater peace of mind knowing that ADT+ is backed by ADT’s SMART Monitoring and Alarm Messenger features. With SMART Monitoring, an AI-powered alarm scoring algorithm combines home analytics from a variety of sources— video analytics, sensor and detector events, acoustic events, user data and smart home events — and prioritizes verified alarms with first responders.

And with Alarm Messenger, customers and their emergency contacts are notified of burglar alarm events via message and given the opportunity to verify or cancel the alarm with ADT directly from their phone, without the need for special software or a phone call. ADT+ will also mark the launch of video verification for Alarm Messenger, where customers and, with their permission, ADT agents and first responders, can receive video of alarm events to help confirm the threat.

A boon for DIYers

In February, ADT+ will first launch for new self-setup customers, allowing them to activate and set up their ADT devices and compatible Google Nest Cams, Doorbell and Thermostats within minutes. They can simply download the app and follow the on-screen instructions. ADT+ will be introduced for current customers and new professionally installed customers later in 2023.
