A seasonal reminder: Check your ADT device batteries this March
The ADT+ app makes it easy to check the battery status of connected devices.

On Check Your Batteries Day, observed each year on the second Sunday of March and timed with the “spring forward” time change, ADT is reminding customers to take a look at the battery status of their home safety devices.

ADT makes it easy for customers to check their devices. Here are three ways we let you know about the health of your batteries:

  • Visual system alerts on the control panel: For customers with a control panel, there are on-screen indicators when a device needs attention, giving you a clear, in-home view of your battery statuses.
  • ADT+ app notifications for compatible devices: For supported devices, the ADT+ app delivers notifications that reflect battery and device status, helping customers stay informed whether they’re at home or away.
  • System supervision through ADT monitoring: Battery and system status are included as part of normal system monitoring.

With a mix of wireless sensors, smart locks and cameras, and life-safety detectors, ADT systems are built for flexibility and effective coverage. Battery-powered devices are an intentional part of that design, supporting placement throughout the home and helping systems operate even when power is down.

“Battery‑powered devices give customers the flexibility to help protect every corner of their home,” said Tim Rader, Vice President of Product Engineering at ADT. “We build in multiple ways to highlight battery status, so customers don’t have to guess — whether it’s on the control panel, through the ADT+ app, or via system monitoring. A quick check can go a long way in helping to keep your home protected.”
