ADT showcased its commitment to innovation grounded in trust and reliability in 2024 with the much-anticipated launches of the ADT+ platform and Trusted Neighbor™ technology*, as well as the celebration of its 150th birthday and the expansion of its ADT Safe Places partnerships.
With these initiatives, the company has reinforced its leadership in the security industry, helping shape the future of connected smart homes. These innovations will continue in 2025, with a focus on technological advancement and community engagement.

ADT+: Redefining smart security
In 2024, ADT introduced ADT+, a next-generation smart home security platform. The platform combines ADT's proprietary hardware and software and integrates professional monitoring and Google Nest devices. The ADT+ app gives customers complete control over their security, automation and monitoring from a single interface, simplifying the process of managing alarms, live camera feeds, smart locks and thermostats.
AI-powered insights, real-time alerts and 24/7 professional monitoring provide added convenience and protection. By streamlining connectivity and automation, ADT+ represents ADT's continued innovation and evolution as the vanguard of modern home security.

Trusted Neighbor™: A high-tech update to an age-old practice
ADT brought the age-old tradition of lending a house key to a reliable friend into the digital era with Trusted Neighbor™. By combining the ADT+ app with Google’s Nest doorbell and Yale®’s Smart lock, Trusted Neighbor™ allows homeowners to securely grant access to trusted individuals — whether it’s a dog walker, house sitter or neighbor checking on a package.
With timed, event-driven and automatic access, ADT customers have complete control over who enters their home, when and how. The addition of Auto-Unlock* further enhances security by recognizing and verifying trusted individuals as they approach the door, automatically disarming the system and unlocking the door — eliminating the need for keys or passcodes. Whether for planned visits or urgent situations like checking on a water leak, Trusted Neighbor™ simplifies home access and reinforces ADT’s mission to make homes safer, smarter and more connected.

Remote Assistance: Customer convenience and flexibility
ADT’s Remote Assistance team has supported more than 3 million customers since the program’s launch in 2021. In 2024, the program allowed the company to eliminate more than 50% of the vehicle service trips it would have otherwise made. It not only offers ADT customers convenience and flexibility, it also reduces the company's carbon footprint.

ADT Safe Places partnerships: Expanding protection beyond homes
Last year, ADT expanded its Safe Places initiative, strengthening partnerships with organizations dedicated to creating safer communities. Through collaborations with nonprofits, ADT provided security resources and support for domestic violence survivors, first responders and underserved communities. By leveraging its expertise and resources, ADT is making a tangible impact on public safety, ensuring that security extends beyond individual homes to the broader community.

This is just a small handful of the incredible partners in the ADT Safe Places program.

Celebrating 150 years of ADT
ADT celebrated 150 years of innovation and security in 2024, marking its legacy as a leader in the industry. Founded in 1874 in Baltimore, Maryland, ADT began with Edward Callahan’s telegraph-based alarm system, the first monitored security network. Over the past century and a half, ADT has evolved from messenger alarms to cutting-edge smart security solutions.
To honor this milestone, employees nationwide gathered for anniversary events, reflecting on the company’s history of innovation and impact on communities and the security industry. ADT also received national recognition when leaders and employees rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange.
Building on the momentum of 2024 — from launching ADT+ and Trusted Neighbor to celebrating 150 years of innovation — ADT continues to lead the industry with cutting-edge solutions and an unwavering commitment to trust and safety. As ADT looks to the future, its mission remains clear: to make our customers and the communities they live in safe, delivering peace of mind today and for generations to come.
*Trusted Neighbor features require ADT Complete (includes Nest Aware) pro monitoring plan, Google familiar face detection, ADT Base, and compatible smart lock and camera devices. Familiar face detection is not to be used as definitive identification, and is not available on Nest cameras used in Illinois. Customer is responsible to inform their trusted individuals of any dangerous conditions existing at the premises.
